I have a lot of success with reading about a topic on something like Wikipedia where if I get to the end of a page and want to continue reading, there’s loads of links to follow to related stuff.
I also am short sighted, though possibly a bit worse than you given your description. If my glasses suddenly fell off there are plenty of hazards I would potentially miss. Idiot kid about to run into the road, etc.

I think I’m more concerned about the unfortunate scenarios where:
Glasses fuck up meaning driver can only see near -> something that needs quick reactions happens to avoid someone dying -> driver is fumbling with glasses or trying to find a spare pair -> somebody dies
I don’t think I want it to be possible for someone’s glasses to die or freeze
People do dangerous things that are made safer by the fact they can see—like driving
Edit: you’ll need a prescription because the amount of focus it needs to do will be different for everyone and there isn’t a sensor to determine your eyesight

A lot of the normal sleep hygiene stuff usually results in worse sleep for me.
I need to be reading something not especially interesting and keep going until I feel like I’m about to fall asleep, then put my phone on the side table and try to catch that wave.
TV on whilst I’m trying to fall asleep is even better (I don’t have the step where I need to put my phone down) but it keeps my partner awake so I don’t get to use that option very often.
If I don’t have anything to occupy my mind, it freewheels at high speed and ultimately ends up keeping me awake.
Most people have manual cars in the UK. Automatics are the weirder, more esoteric ones to us.
I think it’s more or less a cultural thing at this point
FWIW I believe competitive drivers prefer manual control (even if the gearbox itself is automatic) because controlling when the gear change happens can make a difference in a race
I think it’s worth understanding that tinyconfig is the result of a lot of effort into finding how much you can strip back the kernel and have it still (kinda) work. It’s realistically as stripped back as you can get—you don’t even get access to storage devices by default.
I’m curious about where your requirements have come from, as if the kernel was literally just tty and ethernet, you basically wouldn’t be able to do anything with it.

I’m probably standing up because I’ve been sitting down for hours—I’m quite tall and broad, so even in the extra legroom seats, I’m usually at some level of discomfort.
Also I’ve often got a load of shit to put back in my bag, nice to get that done before I start moving. Plus, I always get the aisle seat, so I’m getting out of the way for others that want to do the same.
