With almost a million people migrating out of Greece and tourism bouncing back hard after covid, of course unemployment will be lower in Greece. But outside of tourism, Greece is a zombie country.
Most of the people migrating out of Greece are young and educated. This will significantly affect the future of the country, both from a demographic point of view and policy.
For the first time ever, right wing parties got over 50% of the votes. Greece is a historically leftist country. The governing conservative party has like 3 right parties, further on its right in the parliament. Neonazis, christian talibans, you name it.
And while the governing party is trying to appeal to centists(in order to keep the left busy with in fighting), they also pander to the far right. And the worst part? The government has demolished freedom of press, increased spying on citizens and opposition, etc.
The stage is set for a greek Orban, but the current prime minister lacks the charisma and appeal. The infrastructure is there. Hopefully this will also reignite the leftist reaction instincts. Which is why the current prime minister is keeping a relatively low profile in regards to social issues(antiwokeness).
In fact, he made gay marriage legal in Greece and all the European leaders rejoiced. Except the only reason it wasnt already legal was because of his party. All other parties(except the neonazis and the communists) supported gay marriage. Many members of his party voted against it, but the law passed because the opposition supported it.

The greeks know the way.
Meanwhile, Greece’s national drink is an ice coffee

I am glad the rest of the planet has joined the greeks. Who said that modern Greece isnt producing any new culture?
Noone identifies as rich, because as you become richer, your social circle also becomes richer. So you never really feel rich, because there are other people who are, significantly, richer than you.
If you dont worry about food, shelter and healthcare then you are rich(or at least “middle class”), ie free to do whatever the fuck you want with no risk or fear. You can have very low personal net worth but if your family(and/or society) has your back, no matter what, then you are not poor.
And since Norway has one of the highest home ownership rates, among non shitty countries, then even from a networth point of view, most norwegians probably have 500k+ € networth. Most countries with high home ownership are poor countries, where houses are cheap and shitty(people are migrating out of the country, so a lot of houses are available). Or countries like China and Singapore, where housing is a major priority for the government.
And in before “communism”, Singapore is one of the most capitalistic countries on the planet. But providing housing is a big part of their social contract and how the dictatorship has managed to maintain control over the country for over half a century with minimum opposition. And tbh, the chinese government is similar. Authoritarian but provides economic prosperity/housing in order to keep society stable. Also communist mostly in name but actually capitalistic.
Is it because they are rich and dont want to cook?
A lot of turks living in Germany are(or descended from) poor, uneducated, turkish farmers who were imported to Germany many decades ago, as cheap labour, when Germany needed workers.
Not all immigrants(turkish or otherwise) are like that.
Walmart profit margins are razor thin(4%?). Yes, they made billions but only because they had insanely high revenue. If you have a 30% extra cost, even if Walmart absorbed as much as possible (4%), the price would still go up 26%(actually more).
People who think companies can absord such a sudden and drastic increase in cost are clueless.
This video explored the tariff cost on computer hardware, with some companies giving actual numbers. It shows how even small increases in tariffs(or any cost) can completely destroy the bottom line
Maybe they dont want Hollywood to film movies in Canada or Mexico. Or maybe Trump is a child that does random stuff, who knows.
If you check the polls, nothing changed in Australia to justify the rapid drop of the right wing, except Trump.
The american obsession with melanin levels is insane. Why cant they be normal and be racist to people who live over the next hill, like us enlightened europeans.
Tha Taliban are fighting against ISIS-K. ISIS-K is the terrorist organisation behind the terrorist attacks in Russia. I am pretty sure that even the US had some backchannel communication with the Taliban, in order to drone strike ISIS-K targets in Afghanistan(after the US had left Afghanistan).
NA engines, ie “NA v8”, doesnt mean “north american v8”, but “naturally aspirated v8”.

“On January 29, 2003, the European Parliament passed a nonbinding resolution opposing unilateral military action against Iraq by the United States. According to the resolution, “a pre-emptive strike would not be in accordance with international law and the UN Charter and would lead to a deeper crisis involving other countries in the region””
“France, Germany and Russia were from the very outset publicly opposed to a US-led war”
“Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Austria and Liechtenstein also condemned the war. The Czech Republic, Croatia, and Slovenia were already mentioned above”
Most european governments opposed the invasion, and most people, even from the european countries that sent troops, opposed it. The invasion of Iraq significantly deteriorated the relations between the european states and america.
For tracking to be useful, it needs data from multiple sources. If it is a brand new incognito session, then it will only have the data you create from that search. If you disable Fingerprinting, it wont have much data and wont be able to reliably and accurately attach or combine that data with other data and accounts.
I just use ddg and for when i want to search something important, i just use Google(in incognito).
It is easy to say this when you are just a rando on the internet. But these politicians are responsible for the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Keeping the tariffs because a manchild is in charge of the most powerful country, would have had significant negative effects on those lives.
The only thing we can do is pivot the EU away from the US, slowly, while building its military/IT capabilities. Trump(and the US) will suffer eventually. Treating the global economy like a shitcoin has severe long term consequences, consequences that will not be reversible for decades, if not centuries.
But in order to do this while causing as little damage as possible to Europe, it will take time(at least a decade or two).
I mean he is a lawyer, who fought for the environment for decades. You dont become a successful lawyer by reading tweets, you need to actually read and put effort. He is not like most of trump’s cabinet, even though he is a conspiracy theorist and a flawed human(though with the upbringing he had, i cant imagine any human coming out as normal).
Some countries have it, not all or even most. Sweden is not representative of the entirety of Europe.
In Greece you arent even allowed to camp outside of very limited designated camp sites(though laws in Greece are more like suggestions, so many people still go camping in forests).
First, Canada should just join Eurovision. This should be mandatory IMO, for all european members, candidates and future prospects.
But realzies, Canada is just too far away. They can get a trade deal and join in for certain policies(environmental, etc) but ultimately, unions mostly make sense for neighbours. I dont think either the EU or Canada will benefit that much from a union, at least for now. Maybe in a few decades, after both sides integrate better and have common policies, things will be different. However, if globalization collapses and the US keeps going the way it is going, i can see this accelerating things.
