I’m surprisingly level-headed for being a walking knot of anxiety.
Ask me anything.

Ugh, I can’t find the GIF but picture Malloy and Mercer shuttling down to Xelaya.
Malloy: “It’s places like this that make me realize…I’m trash. My family’s trash”
I’m not saying you can’t; it’s just that the focus has shifted long ago.
If you’re not constantly virtue-signaling, you’re not Lemmying correctly
They’re not necessarily wrong, but they’re not helpful and kind-of tone deaf at the same time. Like, you can’t enjoy anything without someone chiming in about how that small thing that brings you joy means you’re six degrees removed from slave labor or supporting someone evil. Guess they expect everyone to go live joylessly in the woods or something?
It’s like…have you ever seen The Good Place? They’re like the people who came up with the rules to get in. I’ll put the rest in spoilers just in case you haven’t.
It turns out, they’re in The Bad Place the whole time. They later learn that no one has gotten into The Good Place for over 500 years because the world is so inter-connected, it’s impossible to be a truly good person according to the rules (which don’t account for unintended side effects your actions may cause).
e.g. You buy flowers for you mom on her birthday. Nice gesture and surely going to get you some “good” points right? Wrong! That’s a lot of “bad” points because you ordered them from a website owned by an evil corp, and that evil corp did a lot of evil things with your money, the delivery driver’s van caused a lot of pollution, etc. Ordering them from the local shop wouldn’t have been any better since they don’t source them locally. Etc and etc.
Remember when kids went to school to learn? I mean, I’m an 80s/90s kid, so I barely do, but still.
Sadly, true. Though I remain able to get by with only minor inconveniences without a smartphone; requiring an app to charge my EV when away from home would be a bit more than a minor inconvenience, though.
Having been burned many times in the past, I won’t even trust 40 GB to a Seagate drive let alone 40 TB.
Even in enterprise arrays where they’re basically disposable when they fail, I’m still wary of them.
The charging system in that region is excellent. … - we used them all. Several required a different app, which was the only hassle
That. That is my main hangup with EVs (though that’s not an EV problem in and of itself). I no longer carry a smartphone, and even when I did, I didn’t “app”.
I do not want to be required to have my phone on me, have it be charged, or have a stupid app installed to be able to refuel my vehicle. And chances are, those apps already do or eventually will refuse to work on custom ROMs (I’m a big fan of LineageOS).
We solved this problem ages ago with debit card terminals on gas pumps (or an attendant you can hand cash to). Why are we app-ifying the same experience with EVs?
That’s based on https://github.com/jonmagic/copy-excel-paste-markdown
Would be awesome to see some Lemmy clients incorporate that. I’ve had it requested but haven’t had a chance to really dig into it yet.
I agree with you. If someone wants to be an activist for any cause, more power to them. But it shouldn’t be expected of anyone, and they definitely shouldn’t be shamed for simply choosing to live their life.
For many, they’ve already fought hard to be where they are, so their battle is over; they should get to enjoy the fruits of it.
(This is faked in dev tools for a joke, BTW. Just making that clear lol).
I was gonna say…there are reposts here?
He’s not a hologram, but no one in ST really needs glasses, so I think it still applies lol.
Funny you mention the word luau. I have the same codewor…
It’s like a forceful put or get.
Now I kind-of want HTTP verbs for those.

YOINK /api/v1/list HTTP/1.1

Looks like OP fixed it (I got the redirect earlier, too).

There was a post in c/Fediverse a week or so ago called “Why are KF users getting banned?”. It got removed, so can’t really link to it. I pulled up the post on my instance since I can see removed content. Screenshots of the relevant exchange below (usernames/avatars redacted for privacy).
The first two panels are direct quotes from a (now removed) thread a week or so ago; I basically memed that thread as this:
I never really saved local copies of my memes back then, but I found ones I saved from other people. Best I can do right now is:
